William Schaff is a contemporary artist based in Providence Rhode Island. He is known for creating artwork for bands such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor, and most notably Okkervil River, who have used Schaff for all of their album covers. Schaff works in cut paper, embroidery, painting, drawingm scratchboard, mail art, and printmaking. His work deals with subjects of lose, debt, and violence, taking cues from the albums he designs covers for.
